This amp was made by CMI (Chicago Musical Instruments), who manufactured for: Gibson, Kalamazoo, Maestro, Sabre, SG Systems, Standel, and Lowery. This is the SG Systems 212 and "SG" stood for Standel/Gibson series amp, designed by Bob Crook, of Standel, and is reminiscent of his hybrid tube/solid state designs for that company in 1963.

Just bought an SG back in July. I've always played fender amps, and I was worried that the SG might not sound all that great through my '67 Bassman, but I've gotta say, it sounds awesome! Others have recommended Fender amps - I have to say that for Blues tone, Gibson guitars and Fender amps sound pretty amazing together.
