Spes is a tiny, cozy Italian natural wine bar (in the old Terroir space!) with mismatched dishware and walls lined with wine bottles making it the perfect spot for the cooler days ahead. Instead of a traditional wine menu, they use a wine wheel where you spin to choose a mood and wine color, and they bring you a few options that match your choices.
The literary representation of Spes offers insight into how Romans conceptualized hope. Roman authors, poets, and philosophers often invoked Spes in their works, using her as a symbol to explore themes of aspiration and endurance. In Horace's poetry, Spes appears as a comforting figure, providing solace during turmoil.
Spes is recommended for the Italian cuisine offered. Nicely cooked tagliatelle, grilled octopus and prosciutto can make a profound impression on you. Clients may order tasty tiramisu and good gelato at this place. The wine list is diverse, it can satisfy the needs of all guests.

Spes is a cozy natural wine bar with drool-worthy Italian food located in Manhattan's East Village neighborhood. I love this place so much I did my birthday dinner here with my husband! I've also brought multiple out of town friends here…seriously can't recommend enough. The coolest thing about Spes is that they don't have a wine menu.
