The equipment required for a transformer substation depends upon the type of substation, service requirement and the degree of protection desired. 132KV substation has the following major equipment. 132 kV substation training for students
The project found that 132kV array cable is a critical area where further technical development and higher consensus across the industry is required. This summary report outlines the outcomes of the Hi-VAS project's recent work to build industry-wide consensus on the technical design and performance requirements for 132kV array cables ...
Learn about the design overview and optimization of switchgear and protection systems in a typical 132/33 kV power grid substation. This article covers the principle of protection, the types of switchgear, and the factors affecting design optimization.
Our project is to design a 132KV/33KV EHV substation where the incoming power is received at 132 KV from a generating station. The power factor is corrected here and the voltage is stepped down to 33KV and power is then transferred to distribution system of the grid to meet the requirements of the end consumers at their suitable voltage.
For example, if the maximum operating voltage of customer's equipment served by the substation is 120 kV, then the design voltage must be at least 132kV (120+10% =132). The secondary voltages are derived from the primary voltages using transformers.

Key findings. Consensus was reached that 132 kV operating voltage is the cost-optimal next array voltage, with 132 kV offering significant cost savings over 66 kV, even for wind turbines of 14 MW, which are currently available at 66 kV.
In June 2022, the Hi-VAS project found that 132kV is the optimal next array operating voltage. It al so found that there is urgency for the industry to make this transition [1]. Although no showstoppers were identified for the transition to 132 kV , challenges still remain to step up from 66 kV (the current standard array operating voltage ...
