Dear friend, When we want to make somebody do something or persuade them to do something, do we use 'have them do' or 'have them doing' it? for example, do we say "I won't have you smoking at your age" or "I won't have you smoke at your age"? Thank you!
To have someone do something means to cause someone to do something. To make someone do something means to force someone to do something. To get someone do something means to persuade someone or trick someone to do something. This is what the dictionary says but I saw they're sometimes interchangeably used, so dictionary definitions are not enough.
