PUBG currently has good directional audio and sound stage engines. It's not the same as it was 5 years ago, when it was absolutely garbage. Over past 5 years I went from integrated sound device and $30 headphones, then Xonar DX, Audiotrak Prodigy Cube, 8 different pairs of headphones to my current setup.

PUBG doesn't have particularly high quality sound that needs extra processing power. There are tons of other options in the $100 range that will give you lots of crisp mids and highs without overpowering lows. But, honestly? You'll just get better at hearing footsteps with practice and experience.
Hello, I have bought Sennheiser ie900 for pubg after seeing tgltn using it and I have a goxlr and I noticed a little noise floor so I thought that maybe I should invest into a decent dac/amp and I got the Questyle M15 as many say it's the best dap available and it's sounds amazing.
It's not so much the amp giving a certain characteristic to the headphones but the amp actually being able to drive the headphones properly which your onboard could not. Usually an amp just amplifies, it really should not colour the sound in any way. And the Fiio being quite good I'm sure it's not warming your audio.
