A: I don't think this lens would be fast enough focus for a sporting event inside a gym. For basketball and me being positioned under the goal. I use 70-200 f2.8 G Master, then I can cover both goals. I think the Sony 85 f1.8 would be a better suited for your needs and price range based on looking at a 90 macro.
